The Long Island Regional Adult Education Network (LI-RAEN) provides technical assistance and professional development to adult education and family literacy programs funded by the New York State Education Department (NYSED). The LI-RAEN is one of seven Regional Adult Education Networks funded by the NYSED through federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), Title II funding.
The seven RAENS, in coordination with the NYSED Office of Adult Education Programs and Policy (AEPP) Unit, provide technical assistance to assist adult education programs in meeting statewide benchmarks on the National Reporting System’s (NRS) core indicators.
The LI-RAEN serves adult literacy program needs throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties and works closely with other public service agencies (e.g., state and local Departments of Labor, local Departments of Social Services) within the local workforce development systems to address emerging, transitional, and incumbent workers’ literacy needs.
If you have questions about our services or would like more information on how the LI-RAEN can help your program meet its goals, please contact our office.
